English Grammar 101 – Subject Pronouns

The subject pronouns in English are:

(singular)
I
you
he (male)
she (female)
it

(plural)
we
you
they

– the subject pronoun always preceeds the verb:
She lives in London

– “I” is always written as a capital letter:
My name is Luca and I am Italian.

– “it” (neutral) is used for things, abstract concepts, animals and plants:
This is my bag. It is very heavy.

– there is just one third person plural pronoun, “they”:
I have many books. They are in my bedroom.
